I've been lurking around here for a while but haven't really said much because I felt like I didn't have anything useful to add.

Anyway, I'm 36, stuck in a civil service job that pays the bills (slowlane) and trying to figure out how to break free and become a fastlaner (Currently reading TMF ). I'm really into web design and I'm teaching myself HTML, CSS, and soon JavaScript using freecodecamp and Youtube tutorials. I've also been looking at Wix and WordPress to see what all the fuss is about.

I'm thinking about taking the plunge into freelancing, but I'm not sure if I'm ready yet. Any tips on how to get started or when's a good time to jump in would be awesome!
