I've literally just finished reading the book, it's got me really fired up.
A bit about me - My name is Dom, from the UK, I'm 35 years of age, and no longer want to follow the slow lane and trade my time for money.
I currently run my own plumbing and heating business - however this feels more like a 'job' to me, and I've decided it's time to start coming up with ideas to start my own money tree
After reading the book - I've thought of some things that I wish existed. I'm a keen carp angler, and regularly use one or two apps to keep an eye on the forthcoming weather, to try and plan my fishing trips around favourable conditions. I've noticed that there doesn't appear to be an app that satisfies my needs.
With angling, it is beneficial to know what the weather has been doing for the previous week/5 days. In terms of wind direction and air pressure. So I'm looking to have an app built that not only shows the coming 5 days weather for your local area, but also logs the previous 5 days weather.
I've currently asked on a few carp angling forums to gauge interest, to see if it's worth pursuing, then I'll take action from there. I've posted the job on eLance to get a rough idea of cost if I was to employ a developer to design it.
If it looks like there'll be enough interest, I'll go ahead with it, with a view to creating a brand off the back of it. I'm planning on getting on all the social media sites to get the name out there and drum up some hype for it. I think it could open several doors, as carp fishing is becoming ever more popular in the UK, I could then roll it out in different languages across europe, depending on the success (or lack of it!) it has.
In the meantime I'm using as much of my spare time as possible to read up on app development. The alarm clock is now being set for an hour earlier each morning to dedicate it to this!
