I came across a documentry on YouTube called "Mind of a millionaire". It case studies five British millionaires and the traits they may all share.

Once you get past the first 5 minutes it gets really interesting, especially the case study on the "disinterested teenager". Plus some of the statistics they give out, they reckon about half of self-made millionaires in Britain may be dyslexic.

Great videos - well worth watching! Gave me a lot to think about

After poking around a little more on the website I found this:

Revealing statistics from the Tulip Survey of self-made millionaires commissioned by Optomen Television:
 • On average they work more than a 60-hour week
 • Their biggest faults are being aggressive and abrasive
 • More than half come from poor or ordinary backgrounds
 • Most of them don't care what other people think of them
 • The majority said they were lazy or just very average at school
 • They prefer to drive Mercedes
 • Their favourite dish is roast beef or lamb
 • They say hard work has been crucial to their success
 • Almost all say they are happy with their life
 • Half spend less than £40 per head for dinner at a good restaurant
 • They prefer to buy quality cheaper clothes from high street chains
 • The majority spend more than £2500 each year on holidays for their family and they like to stay in five star hotels

Im a check for every single one except

# Their favorite dish is roast beef or lamb

im done, i should just stop now... i do not like roast beef. I enjoy lamb but definite not my favorite dish.

I think it said 53% or 54% of millionaires excluding homes in Britain are self made. Most people do not realize how many millionaires were broke at one point. By far this is something people need to stop and think about. Do not make money an excuse.

Wow, I'm running in good company. Who could say "No", to a good Roast Beef sandwich on white bread, with a little ketchup. :)

Very enjoyable video
I like my roast beef with a bit of Arby sauce. Last time I made lamb, it came out gamish. So I shall try again.

The only check I don't meet is the highbrow item stuff. I would like in time to have a nice pair of expensive jeans(when I can fit into them), but for now I'm okay with Walmart.

I am amazed they didn't mention their watches. Since, you see a bit of that. Im happy with my Casio Calculator watch. Makes me look like a 80es Geek, but I feel its cooler than some..20k piece that keeps losing time.:huh2:

I don't think $20k watches are marketed and sold based primarily on their ability to tell accurate time any more than a Ferrari is marketed and sold based on it's ability from getting from point A to point B.

As an aside, I noticed that a few of the millionaires seemed satisfied that they were identified as entrepreneurs. That got me thinking. The fact that millionaires can be easily identified by a few simple tests should say something in and of itself.

The comment by the unidentified entrepreneur was interesting - "You can only sleep in one bed at a time. You can only eat one meal at a time."

The trait that I most empathized with was a total disinterest in anything outside of what I want to be interested in. For better or worse, I think my posts predictably reflect that.

Best regards.

"Each day I try my best to manage, and deal with, the consequences, of, being ordinary."

I love how there were questions on that quiz, along with parts of the show, that correlate totally with having ADHD as an adult. :smx9:

Richard Branson's got it, the CEO of JetBlue's got it, along with a long, long list of famous entrepreneurs, inventors and artists. It seems with ADHD-ers either end up doing great things or behind bars. Ha!

Just another interesting tidbit in what millionaires and go-getters seems to have in common.

I've got ADHD, and I know it's absolutely contributed to both my work ethic and my creativity. Hooray for a hyper brain!

I'm not aggressive and abrasive. I use to be, and be so competitive when I was younger. I feel this is the one thing that has kept me behind. I need to rekindle this light again. This documentary is really good.
