Well, hello and Happy Christmas.! I've been a follower of this forum for quite a while. As some of you may have already guessed it out from my user name (Renn), I'm an ardent car guy
. I'm from India and have completed my high school and will be out of my teen days soon enough by 2015. (Pardon my English)
Unlike many teens out there, I haven't yet made a single penny myself and unlike most, I haven't anytime fallen into any 'get rich quick' scams ever. Call me lazy but I'm yearning to get through it. Also, until a few months back, I was under the notion that being a millionaire is all about inheriting wealth or opening up a business and trailing it for decades to come. In my country almost 95% of the society subscribe to the thought of graduating from school, acquiring a degree, applying for govt. jobs or leaving abroad for a better life. I have read posts by young entrepreneurs on different forums, who are living a dream life. Some of those people are just in their teens, who have acquired a successful lifestyle by their own hard work. I feel literally dwarfed when I hear about 15/16 year olds from other countires do IM or develop apps and make a good living.
What changed my perspective towards life is Allen Wong's YouTube channel, on which I bumped into once when searching for some Lamborghini stuffs. Eventually, after realizing that coding apps wasn't the thing for me, I began exploring more into the ways of making money, which gradually made me into this forum and MJ's "Millionaire Fastlane ", which I'm yet to complete reading. I wish if all parents had a copy of that book and taught their children what really have they got to achieve in life. I convey my thanks to MJ DeMarco for this forum, Millionaire Fastlane and his generosity to share his wisdom to people.
I'll be 20 years old soon enough and will be leaving my country to pursue a diploma course in Singapore, for which my parents had already made the payment. To be honest, I don't want to be a dropout and don't want to disappoint my parents by scoring a low grade in college. The course length is 3 years and will have to work in Singapore for an another 3 years at least (as a part of the bond, for which the govt. will be giving a tuition grant).
Although, my goal is to have a financial freedom, but what deters me is the thought that I'll be in Singapore and I'm not sure about the opportunities there. I'll have to work part time in some restaurants there. Living expense in Singapore is quite high and so are the tax rates. I don't find myself promising whether I'll be able to get into Internet marketing or not. After college and the part time job, the free time I'll be having could be just 2 or 3 hours. I too have a fear of me getting slowly dissolved into the slowlane in the future. Needless to say, I'm a total newbie, and have got no business strategy nor marketing ideas in hand.
I'd like to have some valuable advice from you. If someone here can share his/her's experience who got into IM in their free times after college and work would mean a lot help. Also, any fastlaners from Singapore here.?
