$1, $1000, $10,000, $100,000 or $1,000,000 it just won’t matter how much you have if you are not the master of it.

If you are totally lost with your finances and are looking for a way to dig out, I would like to tell you what I am doing.

It doesn’t matter if you are in debt beyond your means and only have $1 to start with.

It just requires creativity and willingness to step outside your box and exercise some discipline.

Buy/Sell
That’s right. You are going to buy something and re-sell it for more than you paid for it.

It does matter what it is however. What I did when I first started out was track items of personal property in the classifieds. I called the owners of the items that had been up for sale for more than a week and asked if the item was still available or sold, and what price did it sell for.

In this way you will get a feel for the market without having to expend any capital. Once you have tracked some items and know the price range, quality and how quickly they sell for,
you go ahead and make your buy offers based upon what you know you can sell the items for. As a rule of thumb I look for a minimum of a 25% to 50%+ mark up.

You will need a cell phone, a way to get around and an internet connection is helpful.

It really is as easy as searching the classifieds (1hr), buying your item(1hr), making a Craigslist ad (15min), negotiating with potential buyers and making a cash sale (2 hours).

Once you start selling items that are over $2000 your hourly income gets what I call decent ($100/hr+). You capital is your earning limit. Use discipline and grow your capital.

There are a million different techniques and details that we could get into if there is any interest in this thread.

There are many who have used this technique, it could be a baseball card or multi-million dollar house, it’s the same game.

Ok, it’s hard to make a system out of it, so there is really no way to turn passive income.

But you can start with nothing and with some work to get yourself into larger money deals. (There really is no upper limit…)

Fair enough...

Sounds slowlane.

/shrug

I agree with JScott and feel that testmktllc even deserves some speed+ for his post.
Although it isn't fastlane he describes a way to make a first step and to create some capital (which could then be used for fastlane initiatives).

Jscott,

Thanks for the support.

I'm not here to sell anything but ideas. Some want them, some don't.

The way I make money is by selling things (goods and services).

I jJust thought I would start a thread to explore different ways to do that. Find some people who play the game for different angles.

I don't see how spam comes into what I wrote..............

I can't see the SPAM part in this guys post. Maybe I am blind or seriously ill.

What this guy shows us is what a trader do all day long. He just do it with real estate and other high ticket items. That's all. Nothing wrong at all.

He trades high ticket items, others on this forum collect real estate to extract cashflow from, others like me start companies etc. There is different ways if killing a goat.

Very good points are raised here.
Most, if not all of them, have been discussed here in the past.

I want to mention that the concept is vital. Everybody needs to find something that lets him/her create value and increase capital. This money will fund your fastlane endeavors down the road.

A few of us from the forum are working on how to raise money. How to convert $300 into $50,000. Then, how to take $50,000 into $1,000,000. I can't give more details for now as the details are still being worked out, but this is something that we recognize is key, especially if you are starting with $0.

The other one I think is important is that there are many techniques and details, as mentioned in the OP.

So, yes, there is interest.

Please let us know about few of the different techniques and details that you mentioned (especially those that have been successful for you).

And welcome to the fastlane forum.

I don't feel like banning spammers today

Especially as we already have access to the same type of info in other threads. This is just one example.

Mastering the Money You Have-II

No links to my "Ebook" or "Website", I promise.

Just stuff aimed at I guess what you would call "slowlane" people trying to move faster.
I will humbly place myself in that category........for now.

When you are starting out small the best legal way to make money is by selling:

a. Goods
b. Services

that already exist or can be created.

You must do it where your income is greater than your expenses.

You can do it with small to large capital with the buy and resell.

You can do it leveraged capital by owning it for a moment before closing. (Option to buy)

1. Find a marketable asset and get the seller to quote X
2. Negotiate for option
3. Market for buyer who offers Y
4. If Y is greater than X
5. Double close escrow the asset sale and keep the difference

You can also start an S type business by:

1. Find a marketable product Company A is selling
2. Call and ask for a dealer (reseller) price X
3. “Tack on†your commission price Y
4. Market via the phone and internet etc. to company B at X+Y (your price) You can do this for less than $200//month
5. Do not buy upfront. Get your buy on terms of 30 days and get your buyer on at 20 days or less
6. Your income will depend upon your sales creativity and time you put in the process.

Hmmm. I'm not totally skeptic free yet. BUT, I apologize for dogging you upon arival and I have removed my above post!

Don't take the bashing personal...we see enough spam around here to drown in it!

:banana:Welcome to the Fastlane!

:fastlane:

Thanks mtnman,

I'm too new to have seen much spam....Just looking to see if there was anyone else in the buy/sell playground.......

Welcome, I think if you get into the specifics (as much as you can) people will perk up.

Thanks Bilgefisher,

This isn't the greatest example, but I sold this model airplane yesterday....picked up from a private sale for $40..sold for $140 with a single Craigslist ad. Total time about 2 hours. Maybe not the greatest hourly figure but you can do multiple sales etc...

Of course, sticking to smaller high value items such as musical instruments, jewlery, tools etc. is best. I love model aircraft so I market them.

Wife Steamed! Must Sell-R/C Airplane - $150 (Dover)

Date: 2008-04-30, 8:24PM EDT

Too Many R/C model airplanes...... An old Byron Pitts large scale model aircraft.

Partially built. Some hardware missing and no plans, but has all major parts.

An excellent project for a skilled modeler who loves large scale.

$150obo Email or phone: xxx-xxxx

{ "lightbox_close": "Close", "lightbox_next": "Next", "lightbox_previous": "Previous", "lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Billions of dollars are exchanged every year by people buying and selling their junk. Just look for motivated sellers of marketable items.

I typically just work the spread. Drill down on the buy side. Negotiate. I just say "You,ve got to do better than that" and then shut up. If I don't get to my price, I walk.

I push the price up on the sell side and market to sell as quickly as possible.
