Litespeed Web Server VPS

Has anyone here used Litespeed Web Server VPS ...? Offered as a potential add-on ... not sure if I sure use it.

Looks like it was real popular back in 2006 (6th most popular we server in the world) but since then its use has dropped off significantly (down to 26th in 2009) (and in 2013: Just 1.9 percent of websites).

Not a techie (by any means or measures) ... but it does make me wonder ... why the big drop off? Something I don't know about.

Site claims "LiteSpeed Web Server serves 10x more users on a fraction of the memory Apache uses ... High performance Apache drop-in replacement compatible with hosting control panels (cPanel) and is a high-performance, open source alternative to Apache that retains many Apache-compatible features."

Not entirely sure what to make of all that ... but 10x ... I understand that.

Just wondering if there is a hidden trade-off of which I am not aware that should concern me.
