I used to do telemarketing.....this video brings back lots of memories. I know I am a born salesman, but I always felt like shyt after convincing old ladies, husbands, and housewives to buy things they didn't want or need. I was the #1 salesperson at DialAmerica until I quit...I guess that's just how life goes. It's nice to be in a business that has both morals and profit now.

The movie is a classic -- I think it was raining in every scene to symbolize the desperation and misery of their work.

Sheesh.

Reminds me of a guy I met a few months ago. ;)

After calling me a total loser, and saying I had nothing, I said "You don't know that!"

(I consider having $3.5 M a little something, but in all truth, I never intended to talk about this with him).

He actually yelled "Do you want to compare financial statements?!"

So I said, "No, I'm sure that your portfolio is at least 2 orders of magnitude bigger than mine."

Ironically, it may be closer to one order of magnitude.

But the whole point is:

Who the *** cares?!

I'm not in this to impress others.

I'm in this to regain control of my greatest limited asset:

Time.

This movie is such a classic! I recall seeing this particular clip during one of my biz classes. The theme was, what do you think of this fellow's leadership skills. Hahaha. I think must people would say screw you or laugh along. :smilielol:

Glen Gary Glenross and you can get it on Amazon for cheap.

The Glen Gary leads are for Closers!

Barbarians at the gate is another good one related to LBO's of the 80's.

wow, that was a great clip. thanks for the post.

Boiler room is one of my favorites movies. The scene when Vin diesel closed the guy on the phone was a classic too.

I would post the vid, but i didn't want to hijack the thread.

^post it. I'ts on the same topic.

the guy in the first vid reminds me of the guy on The Shark Tank who made 3.2 Billion. He's harsh, but what he says is the truth. You have got to forget about begin nice and take action. No one will pitty you.

Bumping the thread to post a nice reenactment of the Glengarry scene,

The dude in the video above - Brandon Hardesty - is a success story...he posted dozens of reenactments like this to Youtube, got noticed by Hollywood and has been in some films including a lead role in one of the American Pie series.

Here's the scene from the film:

I'm usually not a fan of re-enactments of classic scenes...however, that guy has talent!
