Hello all! I'm Roald, a 24-year-old currently living in Thailand, Chiang Mai, for a year.
My entrepreneurial journey began in school when I sold Fortnite designs on Redbubble. Despite studying Law for four years in Amsterdam to please my parents, I knew deep down that I didn't want a typical 9-to-5 office job.
During my studies, I explored selling products on Amazon, which led me to focus on a particular niche. However, it didn't work out as expected, so I sold my webshop and stock. I learned a lot, so I am happy that I did it and experienced it. During my entrepreneurial journey, I also started to develop myself by reading books. I love to read but do it too little. My brother gave me The millionaire fastlane (loved it) and that’s how I got on this forum. This was already a couple of years ago, but I am back
Afterward, I decided to travel and ended up in Thailand, where I'm staying with a friend from secondary school. Meanwhile, back home, I still live with my parents, so I thought: why not go here for a year? And here I am.
Currently, I am working on a webshop with my brother and have a lot of faith in this project. I am working consistently (in the long run) on various businesses, and I have the feeling this might be where I encounter real success (I know what success for me means
)
In previous years, I encountered the same problems:
- I smoked a lot of weed with friends, and got stuck in a “loop”. Doing the same thing, having no deep connections. I really miss having a circle that is motivated and takes action. I guess that is also the reason I went to Thailand now. Create a new environment, and focus on myself and my business. I stopped smoking now for 2 months, and I won’t go back. It's always keeping me back to reach my full potential.
- Also, I always struggle with routines, habits, and goals. I start with them and make a plan, but consistency is missing. Now I try to remind myself more why I do what I do.
- Next to this, I need to be more aware of my time. In this current world, we are distracted a lot, and I struggle with this. There are so many things I want to do, but I waste so much time on stupid things, that don’t bring me further. I think it’s so important to be aware of how you spend your time, so I will also work on this.
To summarize, i know i have a lot of potential and can do everything i want in life. I just need to focus on the important things and keep consistent.
I hope to spend my time better on this platform than browsing on social media. I hope to give and get some wort from this place.
Also, I think it’s good to write your story down, reflect a bit and share it with the world. Do something differently than i normally do.
Thanks for reading! I wish you the best.
Best,
Roald
