It's quantity and NARROWING DOWN the market. I think people miss the second part. You are essentially trying to recruit an army of readers - of people who will buy your books as they keep coming out. Take 10000 people who like your books and you are clearing $20k per title. Some will drop, others need to be found. But the goal is the same, get those readers by giving them what they expect. You get to pick what variation that is on the popular, selling themes.

What can you work out to systematically narrow it down to a book that copies what is really selling in your genre?
If I had 10 books i'd be excited about the fact that once I figure it out, i will very quickly start seeing some money once I update the other's missing parts like titles and first 10%.
