hello,
I am reading the millionaire fastlane ,
and joined the forum out of curiosity.
We are refugees from Bosnia and live in the Netherlands, since I was 10 years old (I am now 37).
My mother, me and my sister had fled the country , my father had to stay there because of his duty as a soldier
and fight in the war against the Serbian soldiers.
I have went to school and after that did manual labor jobs.
A few years later ,my father also came to the Netherlands wounded...
When I thought everything would be alright again, the family reunited,
my parents soon divorced.
In puberty I started drinking a lot of alcohol and using all kinds of drugs
acted as an idiot and broke the law several times and hang around the wrong people...
Somewhere in 2003/2004 I took more than 10 xtc tablets, drank vodka and snorted speed,
I got a very bad trip and thought I was going to die and peed in my pants,
police came and took me to the hospital, I lost consciousness on the way there...
The doctor said to my mother : if he doesn't wake up ,he will not survive...
That had scared the hell out of me, and I stopped using drugs...
I did still drink beer or whiskey...
The jobs I did were always for a few weeks or months, then I would come in too late a few times too much
or I hated the job and didn't show up...
The longest I have worked was for landal greenparcs, I started as a dishwasher and worked my way up to cook..
from 2007 to 2012.
In 2011 when I worked as a cook for Landal Greenparcs in city Doetinchem,
the Netherlands, I started fiercely hallucinating, and in the months after that
couldn't focus, sleep, work or function anymore....
It was a very tough time, and I only made it through that very difficult time ,because of my mother
She has let me live with her for 36 years.
In the years 2012 till 2020 there was no money, I couldn't find work
and if I did find work, I couldn't keep it for longer than a few weeks.
When working for Landal since 2007 till 2012, I have learned about saving and investing
through books, courses and experience..
In december 2012 I started my first company : Jasko investments
To invest mine and clients money in mutual funds,
and pay investors a 10% return on investment,
every year.
So that their money would double in 10 years.
It could be called a investing club and was permitted to have 100 members.
It was not allowed to be called a money management or investing company,
because of strict regulations by the Authority on financial markets.
I had a Guarantee with my company Jasko investments, that people would get back their money...
I found 5 clients : my father, my mother, my sister, moma's friend and my ex girl friend.
In the first year I payed them 12,5 %
In the years after that I was struggling, I didn't know sales and marketing
and didn't know how to get more customers.
I had E 1600,- euro in the portfolio and if it did 20% a year, that would only be E 320 euro
I could not live from that...
I tried to earn some extra income by delivering advertising and newspapers
and by cleaning the house of an old man in my neighborhood.
Eventually I had to close the ´'company''
to be able to apply for a income from the government...
My applications were denied about 6 times...for different reasons but mostly for not being diagnosed
mentally ill (you can't see that just looking at me )
In 2015 I got an opportunity to sell packages of greeting cards for a charity,
that my sister and her boyfriend at that time had started,
they were both working in door to door sales for some years.
They gave me sales training and took me with them to see how they sell
After a while, I went out selling ,door to door, on my own...
I started getting customers and making sales and earning money..
Because of permit regulations ,it was not practical for me to continue selling on behalf of the charity,
so I started my 2nd company called Hajro, and continued selling greeting cards...
After a while I also added a gift mug and started designing my own greeting cards...
I have been writing in journals since 2010 and in 2017 I wrote and self published my first book :

In the years after that I continued selling packages of greeting cards door to door and
I wrote and self published more and more books, now a total of 50 books...
Somewhere in 2020 I got medicine for my hallucinations and it helped a lot (but it didn't cure it)
I also got an income from the government and was able to leave my mothers house.
I now live in Asterstraat 7, 7021 ZE, in Zelhem ,the Netherlands...on my own with my 5 cats.
(yes I know that most authors hide their living address, I don't )
After being labeled unfit for ordinary work ,the agency that pays me my government income changed.
I get about E1400,- per month and if I earn less than 300 euro per month with my business
they will not cut it from my income....I am very thankfull, this is more than enough for me and my 5 cats...
Finally financial stability
In 2021 / 2022 Danish Usmani ,who i met online, read some of my books and wrote articles about them,
for which I payed him. Calvin dos Santos and Elizabeth Alabi did the same thing.
After a while Danish invested about E 1000,- euro in my 2nd business : Hajro.
The government agency had also paid me an extra E 5000,- euro ,
because of corona, they had delays.
With this money I paid back my mother, sister and father, for investing in my first company
My ex girlfriend and my mothers friend I had already payed back some years ago...
So I kept my word , I delivered on my guarantee, they got their money back plus some extra.
Although it has taken me many years to do it...
I also ordered some extra inventory of greeting cards and payed Danish back about E 2000,- euro
Which was the agreement, that I would double his money.
When I worked at Landal I got a loan from the bank, because I had a steady income and life time employment
by contract....
After getting fired and those very tough 10 years with no or little income,
I could not pay back the loan
Other bills and debts had piled up...
About 1 year ago I got in a debt program...
I pay 60 euro a month and a percentage of my companies profits
for my debts, after 3 years the people who I owe money will get a cut
from what I pay monthly and the rest of the debts will be erased
and I will be debt free, about 2,5 years from now.
By now, the organisation that should help me ,get rid of my debts
has tried 3 times to put me under reign (if I translate correctly)
that is when you don't have access to your bank account, someone else does
and they pay you weekly a bit money for groceries....
It had almost cost me my company...
So I ended the agreement with them
and have to pay about 40000 euro in debts myself
which forces me to work more...
I am sorry if any of this sounds as self-promotion,
it is just my story (most I have copy pasted from my website, to not have to write the whole thing again)
I am earning about 4000 euro a year with my business, Hajro, selling packages of greeting cards offline and door to door
and selling the books that I have written online through selfpublishers...
The cost of operating the business is about 200 euro a month.
I was ashamed to publish my sales and profits on my companies website....
Because I am still struggling after 7 years..
Now I am working towards doubling my sales and profits
I have to, to be able to pay off debts...
I think the best thing I did was persisting with door to door selling and writing more books..
