Hi Fastlaners,
I've been lurking on this thread for some time now.. full of really inspirational threads and people! Lots of people I can relate to.
I'd like to know your thoughts on creating a website and app development company. Is that fastlane?
Following CENTS is my goal before starting this company.. The need is definitely there for LOTS of people needing sites and mobile apps nowadays. Sure, you've got Wix, and others that help you build sites, but there are still plenty who need custom work done. The entry is an issue.. I think anyone can really build a company like this if they wanted.
It'd take a lot of time to start this company, but I see it as a possible fastlane company because I can hire account managers to manage it without me being there in the end.. so that also answers if its scalable. Which I think yes. I can just hire more and more people to scale this thing up with more clients.
This company would be outsourced.. meaning we manage the project professionally, and have contractors do the development/design work. Eventually we may hire some full time developers/designers as work ramps up. We planned on getting clients via Elance and locally.
Its simple: charge $3, get it developed for $1 concept. repeat.
I see this as an easy 50k/mo biz if done right.
So again... is this fastlane? Would appreciate any insight!
