So I was just getting started in learning app development, when i checked a couple of posts here where people mentioned app development but in most cases it wasnt people learning app development. It was people using other drag-drop tools to help them setup a website or create a demo for an app or even a proper app(not sure about that).
I really wanted to learn a new skill and also wanted to create an app and learning app development seems just right. But i also want to learn digital marketing and i am confused about to what to learn. Is it worth it spending several months to learn a skill, practicing it as you go along and then starting marketing that skill once you have "completed the course" or felt that you are good enough? How do you determine that? Do you search for jobs relating to that skill while learning it, or do you wait and learn and then start working?

@andyblack your 2 cents on this?

Honestly I've found the best way to do things is learn as you go. Spend some time learning the skill to a level that you're comfortable with using it, and then go from there. Having people paying you (I assume that's what you're going for) is a good nip in the butt to keep you moving and when you run into an issue, you research and tweak until you find the right solution. If you're looking at developing an app, I'm thinking coding is probably something you need to know (never done it myself)? Start learning the basics of coding, and when you get comfortable with said basics, start playing with whatever platform you need to build the app. As problems arise, you research and tweak until you find the solution.
