I’m Luis, I’m from Brazil, and recently I decided to get back into the world of entrepreneurship with a bit more knowledge — not only academic knowledge, but also the right mindset to truly dedicate myself to this passion.
I had some experiences with entrepreneurship when I was a kid, just like many of you probably did. I had a small team for a game called CSGO. It was pretty small, but I remember that the prize money from the game was enough for me to buy a new mouse and computer at the time. After that, I had a small e-commerce website that didn’t really take off, because honestly, I had no idea what I was doing.
Now, about 8 months ago, I developed a task management app that I originally built as a hobby for myself, mainly to learn some new programming skills. I ended up really liking the result and I’m turning it into a business. I already built the website, studied SEO quite a bit, made some improvements and got around 30 people visiting. I even hired an SEO agency to help grow the acquisition side with the content I request from them.
I’m also about to launch my app on the Play Store. That’s actually been the hardest part, because the legislation in my country is pretty bad for starting a company — and especially expensive. But overall, things worked out and the launch is coming soon.
And now comes the controversial question: does it make sense to hire an agency at such an early stage of the app? Or was that crazy? Sometimes I wonder about it. Of course, I ran some numbers, looked at market options, and it seems like I made a good choice… but who knows, right? haha
