In a dilema

A few months ago I mentioned that I was starting work on an idea for a website that I think can be profitable. I've decided to put that idea to one side for a while because I've had a new idea which is much better and I think after a while I could incorporate the first idea into this new one. The new idea is an idea for a social networking website which I think could become very popular. The only problem is that I've been trying to learn to code since mid November and I still cant create even a fairly simple website. I would like to earn some money to pay for a professional web programmer to do it but as a 16 year old it is hard for me to get this kind of money in a reasonable amount of time. My dad is starting to learn PHP and Mysql with me because he has coded most of his working life but he is very slowlane and I think he wants me to learn to code for a slowlane career in web developing and he wouldn't want to get web developers or partners involved because he doesn't really take a career as an entrepreneur that seriously. In my situation what would you do? Try learning to code until I can finally create a website, start buying and selling on ebay or find another source of income to pay a web developer to do it for me or try to find a partner?
