Because I don't enjoy it. I really hate it. I only did it so I could make a few million dollars but it's taking too much time, and it's difficult to process all that information in my brain

Sounds like you thought it would more like

I'm done doing any of that stuff untill late February next year.
How'd you come up with Late February? What? You need a 2 month break? Customers don't care about your 2 month break.

Because I don't enjoy it. I really hate it. I only did it so I could make a few million dollars
I'll tell you what these people should have told you from the get go. Here's what's going to happen. Once late February comes around you still aren't going to want to do it. Shocker. You're going to convince yourself you just need a bit more time and will start in March. Then March will come around and you still won't want to do it. Shocker. You may even start to forget you were wanting to do this in the first place because you got "busy" and eventually this will putter out and you will stop trying to convince yourself to do it. You will never try again and you will always be broke.

You really think the way to riches is to will yourself to do something you hate every second of every day? Do you think Warren Buffet hates his life?

Why do you think rich people never retire? Because they love it. They are passionate about what they do. They don't want to take a break. They don't want to wait until late February to start again. They hate how Christmas is coming up in the middle of the week and throws everything off (even though they enjoy Christmas).

Whatever app you are creating will fail. Why? Because there's going to be someone out there who is competing with you and actually ENJOYS it. Who do you think is going to spend more hours and be more productive and come up with a better product? The guy who thinks, "Damn I have to stop working and go visit the family." Or the guy who thinks, "Thank god I have to stop working and go visit the family."

Don't stop dreaming about riches. Stop trying to code an app to get there. You need to find something that puts a fire under your a$$. Something you can be passionate about.

I didn't hear you say, "I want to build an app to help Moms buy puppies." You said, "I want to build an app that prints me money." Moms (Customers) don't care about your need for money. They care about their need for puppies.

There's a ton of ways to make money. But hating what you do isn't one of them.

Okay. So this year, I was learning programming. I wanted to create and app and upload it on playstore and make millions. What I do is that, when I'm learning programming, I read a couple of books on the side. I'm done. What do I mean?

I'm taking a break from all this stuff. It's December and I've decided to cool off. I'm done doing any of that stuff untill late February next year. Before I go, here is the list of all the books I've read this year in the order I've read them and I think they might be helpful to you:

1. Brain Tracy: No excuses

2. Ben Carson: U have a brain

3. Richard Templar: The rules of life ( I abandoned this one but I'll finish it next year)

4. Napolean Hill: Think and grow rich ( I abandoned this one too and never reading it again because it's too long and the Grammer is way too advanced for me)

5 George S. Clason: The richest man in Babylon

6. MJ DeMarco: The millioniare Fast lane

And finally

7. Chris Gardener: The pursuit of Happiness

I hope u find all these books helpful. Good luck.

To be honest, I'm just lazy. There's no need to start now. How about I wait until the future if things don't really work out
Don’t get too upset about this. Being successful is difficult and thats why most fail.

There is a study done saying most successful people have some sort of mental disorder that give them the ability to push themselves beyond their pain threshold.

Being lazy is normal. Just remind yourself that it is time to stop being normal and get crazy.

You definitely need to put TMF at number 1! I would actually recommend spending the next couple weeks reading it before the new year to put you in the right mindset, before you get back to making a million dollar app.

You could also look into getting book summaries if English isn't your first language or if you're short on time (Blinkist, Snapreads, and Fourminutebooks for example). But I would absolutely read the entirety of TMF and Unscripted before moving onto those others.

Tnx a lot but it's a really long book. "388 pages". Then I have to read unscripted which is "500 pages"? Common!!

I'll give it a try but later next year

Referencing it when from time to time helps keep me grounded and make the right decision, which is invaluable. You don’t have to read it page to page again.

Buy the audio version and just plug in your car stereo when you drive... or turn on your computer and play it through there... I listen to books while I exercise, do household chores, do my bookkeeping, work, drive... you get the idea. I never think about the number of pages. My only concern is to keep something playing in the background or through my headphones most of the time. When I lose attention, I just back it up and listen to that part again. I listen to several books, lectures and/or podcasts per week -- all non-fiction. The world these days is rich with interesting stuff and I don't even have to go to the library anymore to hunt them down.

It took me 1.5 years of learning to code in my spare time and making apps to just GET A JOB!
I'm not saying it's gonna be too hard to make millions selling apps on app store/play store but I think youprobably didn't have the right expectations.

Anyway, I also took a break around january just to clear my mind so I understand what you're going through.

Just keep at it. Understand it's probably gonna take some yearsm but also understand those years will fly by like it's nothing.

A lot of people keep telling me to read the book twice. And now ur telling me this too? How about u? Have u read it more than once?

TMF is not a book that a person reads once. This is my textbook for LIFE.

Two weeks ago I needed to make a decision. I picked up TMF and flipped to the section on the Weighted Average Decision Matrix.

It's always within arms reach, because it's not a fiction book.

It's a reference manual for your life.

Honestly man, you already know enough. Don't go down the app store path. Use what you know about software dev to land a freelance contract building an MVP for someone else on the cheap. Then, hire someone offshore to do the development and manage them.

Learn how to write copy and sell your service.

If you try to make "millions" by building and launching various mobile apps to consumers, you're almost gambling. You're throwing apps at the wall to see what sticks. Not efficient considering each app will take 6-12 months to build.

Solve a business problem first, then sell it, then (hire someone else to) build the app. Not the other way around. Otherwise you'll get burnt out and quit. Wait, that already happened!

I want to, but it's too exhausting
I feel that. I'm also exhausted and know how hard it is to be exhausted whilst things *aren't* working out as you hoped.

I noticed in your above comment you said you're finding it difficult to process all the information in your brain.

I'd suggest reading (and applying) The Power Of Now. It was recommended to me a few days ago and already I feel better about how things are going and dealing with everything.

You can do it if you stick to it :)

Don't know about others, but I've read it more than twice. And still keep reading specific parts of it constantly. Unscripted as well. Would be foolish not to.

It's perfectly normal to feel overwhelmed with all the information at once. Just accept it and those feelings. So it's good to come back later.

That's true :) But maybe it's easier first to just jump to the place that you're having most problems with? Both of those books cover so much - mindset, business ideas, marketing etc.

And of course, you "don't have to".

Btw, if you ever feel alone, or in need of some more specific advice relating how to learn to code or grow a business with code, there are some youtubers talking about the hustle for ex: Joshua Fluke. He's also the one who got me reading Unscripted in the first place.

Also, some subreddits like: r/cscareerquestions are filled with people learning to code and coders who've made it
