Hey, I just spent the last year of my life deciding on what i want to do with my life.
I decided that I wanted to do business, for personal reasons such as I want something that all my efforts eventually if successful go back to me, something that can eventually give me total freedom, a business i can eventually sell and potentially make a lot of money at once and gain freedom from corporate slavery.
Anyway, i used to do recruitment, and I decided to set my business up as a recruitment agency. I know quite a bit about tech, eg coding, networking, linux, and i am quite strong at mathematics.
After a bit of digging around i decided to build my buisiness on Quantitative developers and machine learning particularly in finance.
I started off cheaply with real basic site and got no traction, and i realised my customers wanted something that at least looked quality and knowledgeable, so i took 6 months out and built a website, and sorted out a proper business brand...from there my customers began to roll in. People started to connect with me and give me jobs, and top talent started to speak to me to look at my fantastic jobs.
The thing was, I have worked so hard, and can see this business taking off and making decent money and maybe in a few years it could be worth quite a bit when i EXIT.
I don't read any of the business books, like 4 hour week, and tony robbins and all that nonsense, i have browsed some of their stuff and its just a load of rubbish, and i once read a book by felix denis called "How to get rich"...that is the only book i have ever read about business in which the guy seems to be honest and actually know what he is talking about.
A friend then said read The Millionaire Fastlane , which i read over 3 days.
The worrying thing is, this book actually talks real truths, and it got me evaluating my own business, and I concluded that my business is lacking with respect to TIME, I have to spend all my days and nights working hard, and this book got me thinking maybe i should have done things differently or another business.
I then analysed my business to find ways that i could run my existing business without having to be there all day and night and grafting hard, I came up with 2 options,
1. Hire Human resources to take the weight and maintain control
2. Change the business to be more of a self serving website
Number 1 will still take a lot of time to manage
Number 2 will be a bit more than i can chew wrt technological developement.
so my question is ..As a standard recruitment agency, specialising in High tech, is my business flawed ?
I can hire human resources eventually, but i will still have to do a lot of the work and management myself.
I really want to be in the fastlane, should i re-evaluate, even though i can make good money, or am i already doing the right thing ?
Thanks
