I have a shameful secret to admit. I am young (only 22) and have no idea what the utility of twitter is. Could someone give me a quick lesson on how twitter has benefited them? I understand what twitter does, I just can't figure out for the life of me why the hell I care what everyone is doing right this minute.

Any help/direction would be greatly appreciated.
