Hey guys, I'm excited to be a part of this forum!

I've been lurking for a couple weeks now after just recently purchasing TMF and Unscripted . The experiences shared here are very exciting and eye opening! I hope I can make a worthy contribution to this great forum as I begin my entrepreneurial journey.

I'm a 25 year old guy living in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. I currently work full-time in the manufacturing sector doing CAD and Mechanical Design and have been for a couple years.

Last year I started on a path of deliberate self-improvement, and I would like to share with you all some of my successes, and failures.

Let's start with the good!
  • After 4 years of being a pack-a-day smoker, and later vaper, I quit cold turkey and have been nicotine free for over a year
  • I ended my lifelong videogame habit (this was a big one for me, since now when I get bored I read or do something productive rather than veg out with a game)
  • I read The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod and twice have gone 60+ days waking up at 5am and doing the routine (I am working all the time to make it a permanent habit and now wake up at 4am regularly, although weekends are when I tend to fail)
  • I got a 2nd job and managed to save up a $5,000 emergency/savings fund (I currently do not make much money in my day job as it was my first in the industry, but that will soon change)
  • In September I started hustling by doing retail arbitrage on Amazon, and in October I did $1,000 in sales (started with $2,000, still have a lot of inventory, about 25% profit, 70% net) and plan to make Amazon my full time gig next year so I can quit my 9-5
  • After 10 years of yo-yo dieting and binge eating, I am finally working on fixing the cause and not the symptom of poor health
And what would be the point of sharing my successes if I didn't also share the failures? We can go look at Facebook if we want to see a perfect life!

  • I got a 2nd credit card to generate reward points from buying groceries and gas, however I was not disciplined with that card and racked up $3,500 in debt on useless crap
  • My 15 year old station wagon crapped out on me and instead of buying another beater, I financed a car that I couldn't pay cash for (I love this damn car, even tho it is bleeding me dry. I am considering selling it, paying off the $4,000 loan and buying a cheap car or van)
  • I managed to lose 10lbs., however my goal for the year was 50. This is an ongoing battle in my life and I still struggle to get over my BS and lose the weight
  • I struggle with being too agreeable and avoiding conflict. I get screwed over because of it, whether it be asking for a raise, dating or even standing up for myself at a mechanic shop and getting overcharged which happened earlier this week

So there you have it, some of my progress and setbacks for the past year. I look forward to getting to know all of you and sharing my successes and failures in self improvement and entrepreneurship.

My mind is abuzz with ideas and the possibilities out there, especially after reading The Millionaire Fastlane and Unscripted (I'm most of the way thru both, not quite done) and I'm excited to continue on with you guys in 2018.

Thanks for reading,
KnightByDay

Hey guys, I'm excited to be a part of this forum!

So there you have it, some of my progress and setbacks for the past year.

Sounds like you just need to keep on keeping on with your program. You're only 25, so you have a lifetime of issues, struggles and wins in front of you. Don't bother to second guess yourself. All the should'ves and could'ves won't help you in your quest. Regrets will just delay your journey and make you crazy. Stand up straight, put your eyes on your goal and put one foot in front of the other, to keep going...

Cool, man. Good intro. Your intro is pretty inspiring. About the health/weight loss, I wrote up a thread about my experience with it and how you can streamline the process. Check it out.
