Any suggestions to help here on the forum. As you said, "you don't to be an expert to help someone".

My reply:


Give Thanks

Start helping people in the forum by thanking and supporting them in their threads.

If someone writes something helpful then Like it and reply with a Thank You and explain why it’s helped you. “Give thanks” is very powerful. Watch how it helps people, and watch how it makes your world a nicer place. Watch how it moves you from team consumer to team producer.



Be a loud and encouraging supporter

There’s a famous quote from Theodore Roosevelt:

“It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”

I’d go further than that. Don’t just NOT be a critic. Be a loud and encouraging supporter.

Support and encourage people from the sidelines. If you see someone struggling then offer support, another perspective, and motivation to help them keep going. It’s amazing the difference you can make to someone’s life by just offering a word of encouragement.

If you see someone make a breakthrough then help them celebrate that win. Congratulate them. Maybe offer a different viewpoint to help them see for themselves how well they’ve done. Cheer them on to their next goal.

you provide value.

Same way you help yourself,
listen and then give what is needed not what is being asked for.....

Help yourself first.
I agree that we should put on our own oxygen mask first if we want to help others, and that business is a great vehicle to help more people. So yeah, I’ll be figuring out how to help more people *and* get paid.

This thread is to those who don’t think they can help anyone. I contend that they can help people by simply thanking or supporting them, and that those simple actions will come back to them.


To clarify I’ve changed the title from “How to help people on the forum” to “How to help people if you don’t think you can add value”.

For that subject, what if you give yourself some credit?! No matter where you are on the road, there is someone that hasn't made it that far yet. You can help them AND everyone coming behind them!

Post, contribute, show your struggles, let everyone know what didn't work.
