I'm hiring a Content Writer for my Digital Marketing Agency to create 1 post per week for me that I can post into 20 Facebook Groups every week.

They can use our FB Group Content Course (Which includes a template) to easily create the posts we want.

These are long form 1,000 word posts that provide value to group members (eg. how to's, educational posts, etc. Nothing spammy saying "use our service")

The goal is for group members to engage with us after reading and ultimately contact us for our services.

My question is... how much should I pay for this? I was thinking $100/week (1 post per week), but I don't want to overpay.

I've seen from 0.025 a word to 0.15 a word for general content. For more specific copywriting and sales, I've seen a lot higher.

Just depends on quality and writer.

You won't find average good quality until you get to at least 0.075 a word and up

Gotcha, so I should expect to pay $75/week minimum for 1 post per week (1,000 words per post) for a good writer.

I already got a few offering $100/week, was wondering if I could get down to $50/week originally.

Pay peanuts, get monkeys

If you want mediocre content pay mediocre money, if you want good content pay good money. If you want great content....

It depends on how do you plan to get back the value of your money. $100 for 1000 sounds pretty enticing for most freelancers who haven't hit high figures yet. Your challenge will be to pick the one that matches the brand style.

I agree with RazorCut. Higher bucks attract more talent. But it can only work so far.

From $1 to $100, you may find a vast skill difference. But from $100 and beyond, the difference isn't that noticeable. A $1K writer won't make your content ten times more converting.

That's what I know about the price as a three-year daily writer. Take a look at these samples: I never charged anybody more than 3 cents per word for that quality. Is $100 too little? It depends on who you ask.

Consider me a candidate.

more than $150 for a general blog content ( 1 post a week ) that is getting posted to Facebook and isn't a tech manual or sales copy is too much for the intent.

I'll throw you bone.

1k post is $120. Ask for Vincent, tell him eliquid sent you.

I do not earn anything from it.

These guys have been in the game a long time and have multiple testimonials.

I could throw you some more agencies that will be same price or cheaper, but this is who I typically order from myself.

For the intent you are looking for, this is what you want... not a $300 type of posting.

Thanks for this guys.

For what its worth, I have 1 hour worth of video that shows someone how to make incredibly enticing FB Group Content (which is what I want them to do).

Do you think if I got a mediocre priced writer (Eg $50 per 1K post) to go through this course (and the course actually taught them what to do with a template to follow, it would be a better option?

I'm considering just getting an average writer to go through the course (as they get a template too to follow). That way, I win on savings + the writer gets more skilled with the 1 hour course.

Also @eliquid thank you for that, I will check them out.

We couldn’t possibly answer this without seeing what the course is but if it’s that good of a course then I think you could.

If the course is that simple you could likely hire someone from the Philippines to do this for $10 per post. You could probably test 5 people in the Philippines at $10 each and see what comes back. Given what you’ve said about the videos I’d likely test that out.

I currently pay .065 per word for blog posts for an American writer. She’s good and we’ve hired lots of other writers in the past year to do similar work at around the same price.

Do the experiment?

For $50 it is worth testing, IMO.

I watched a video from Bezos where he said he has billion $ of failures and it made rethink my approach a bit. For some stuffs, under a certain threshold, I just test and see.

If your test is successful, you win. If not, you learned.
