Nicely placed dog house in the picture. You just need something between the two windows for a nose.

You don't spend much time in California, huh? :)

Nope, not at all...
Here in Washington DC area prices are also crazy, but not 'that' crazy.

nomadjanet, is that a 'good' area in TX? And yes, outrageous is the word for CA prices. I recall seeing some listings that Russ posted the other day and I couldn't believe the asking prices.

That's pretty crazy.

Considering I live in just a random NJ suburb, though, our prices are pretty crazy. $500k here gets you a 3/2, 2000 sq. ft. house on about a quarter acre. That's the price you pay for being < 15 mi. from NYC I guess...

This house is in a suburban area 5 miles outside the inner loop of San Antonio. It's a pretty good area, good school district. It has a one acre lot with a pool & a seperate pool house. The pool house is nicer than that CA house in the original post. The photo they are showing is actually the back porch the front yard is covered by a massive oak tree and the photos can't capture the front porch so the realtor used the back porch shot.

The original house in this post would be about $25K in my area. That is assuming it had city water and sewer.
