Help!! Need advice!!

I am currently 17 and have decided a roadmap for my life but I'm stuck to chose the right decisions to lead me there. So basically i am very very interested in physics mainly electrical concepts and would likely pursue engineering in near future. I have always been curious about military weapons and exoskeletons and as i grew up i noticed most of the weapons for the military of my country are imported and for this the govt launched programs and incentives for private companies here to manufacture domestically but i think there can be a quality and quantity loophole which can be fixed. Govt went upto launch an Mtech in defence technology for enthusiasts but it's launched only this year. So my goal is basically to monopolize defence contracts in my country which follow both quality and quantity.

Now my question is what qualification or specialization is necessary for this. I know degree isn't that of a big deal knowledge wise but it certainly ads a tag to your name and gives up a knowledge environment upto an extent. Now i thought mechatronics would be best keeping exoskeletons in mind but there ain't much scope for mechatronics in my country, what can be the alternatives and what else do I need to do to make sure there are the best certainities i get what I want and what steps to take?
