Hello! The onboarding thread recommended posting an introduction, so here's mine.
I'm in my mid-twenties and stuck in the routine of a Slowlane job. I've been called to entrepreneurship in the past, and have two startups under my belt. While both were amazing learning experiences, neither were business successes. The first project was an audacious manufactured housing startup that I worked on for a year and a half while in grad school. It is still active to this day, but I am not involved at all. The second project was a GPS-based storytelling app that my team was able to bootstrap a functional prototype, and users really seemed to like it. We struggled because our idea violated the Command of Scale; the GPS dimension of our product made it very difficult to get content onto the app and limited the number of people who could engage with that content by geography. After three years and several pivots, the team broke up in November of 2023.
It took me five months to recover, but I am ready to try again. I subscribe to the belief that the only way to realize the value of lessons learned from past failures is to apply them to another attempt. To get there, I've committed the first hour and a half of my day to Chuma Mode. I intend to use this Forum for accountability and to engage with a community of like-minded individuals.
I'm happy to be here.
