Free stock photos!

I came across this pretty amazing list of free stockphoto sites on Life Hacker just before and figured it could be a handy resource for people that need images for book covers, websites, whatever!
Most are creative common zero which means you can use them commercially however there are some where you need to credit the source, just check the license and be aware of that. Enjoy!

Yeah I agree that 'stock' for the most part is pretty boring and uninspired but a lot of those links contain really good photography that happens to be royalty free.

You should look out for when AppSumo has their 100 stock photos for <$40 on depositphotos.com. I think I've spent less than $100 on stock photos this year, have over 160 unused and another 90 "free" downloads.

yup - excellent price. I got the same deal and later found the free non-stocks. I love that App Sumo offer.

Absolute great post thanks for the share! Always looking for decent stock images.

The thing is with deviantart these days are alot of the Resources/Stock Images get re-directed and charged its ridiculous used to be amazing a real free learning hub.

You can also search through google.

1) Fill in your keyword,
2) Go to images
3)click on the "wheel" on the right top side.
4) Go to advanced search.
5) Scroll down to "permissions"
6) Choose "Used indefinitely, even commercial"
7) Click the button to search

Done.

Disclaimer: I translated the buttons and names of options from my language to english, so the actual terms might vary a bit.

I am a big fan of http://www.freeimages.com/
It was bought by iStock a few years ago, but it still has a decent collection of Free images. You just need to click the "free" tab after doing a search (as by default it displays results from iStock.
