Hey guys,
I was at the thrift store yesterday and there were some very nice luxury handbags up for bidding. The highest bid was $200, I bid $210 and won today. The owner of the store said a very old lady had brought them in, and confirmed they were real.
I just picked them up, I don't know anything about handbags, I will try and find out how much each cost.

Here are some pictures:

brands left to right:
1. Etienne Aigner
2. Coach
3. Louis Vuitton
4. Tignanello
5. Fossil
6. Ostrich (Some bizarre mini purse, no idea what it is used for)
7. Vera Bradley (Looks like a wallet with a notepad and matching pen)

Any tips on how I can flip these and make some profit?
Thanks!

If the LV one is real it is worth good money. Don't try selling them online people will be very skeptical. Go into the wealthy part of town to a clothing resale high end store. You should be able to double your money. I don't understand a thrift store auction how did you hear about this?

Where are you located?

Did you confirm it's legitimate (shop owner might not be creditable)? Sounds almost too good to be true. But I'd try to sell it on classifieds website or eBay. Best of luck

Do they come with any kind of certificate of authenticity?

Good idea, I will look into that. I will also try cash trader stores and see how much they will give for it.
I didn't hear about the auction, the thrift store is near my house in eastern Pennsylvania so I just go there almost everyday to find cool stuff for cheap. The bags were in a glass frame, you just had to write down your initials, phone number and bid amount.

I've been checking using this ebay guide:
eBay Guides - How to SPOT fake LV LOUIS VUITTON Multicolor Guide 1
everything seems to match up!

Do they come with any kind of certificate of authenticity?
unfortunately not!

I think ebay is a good start. The only problem I think would be trying to convince buyers that the LV is authentic. Make sure you take a lot of detailed photos, especially anything that indicates it is real, maybe even link the "how to spot a fake" page.
Does the Coach bag have a leather patch on the inside, with style numbers?

Thanks for the tips. There is the patch on the inside, it looks like this:

It says:
"This is a coach bag it was
hand crafted in China from
the finest materials strimmed
with genuine leather its superior
craftsmanship and attention reflect
our commitment to enduring quality.
NO CO4U-1203"

Fakes look just like real, even patches, leather, etc. My x gf even brought her fake to the real store and asked if it was real and they said it was. You really can not tell even the person who worked at the store could not tell that is how well made some fakes are. The LV could be good $$$.

How to Tell if a Designer Bag Is Fake: 6 steps (with pictures)

Just a thought:

Is there any website / course / ebook out there that deals especially with spotting fake designer stuff?

May be a nice ebook idea since like every woman (and men, too) shopping online for cloths, watches etc. worries about buying knockoffs..

Or a database including app where you type in the product and it shows you all the typical fake characteristics, so you are safe before buying or after receiving your product can check it from a - z. Is there a site like this on the web?

There are some small sites or some niche sites like the rolex one out there, but I can't find the #1 site in this niche...

As someone who owns several items from the brands you listed:
-the coach bags are real. That tag inside is found in every real coach bag and I've personally seen those exact purses in a coach store.
-Same goes for the Louis Vuitton
-others ones I can't say for sure, but here's the thing:
It isn't unheard of to find these purses in discount stores--specifically Good Will/Salvation Army stores (they are usually under a case)--they are never hung out with the rest of the typical purses. Women go through purses like men go through porn. If you happen to live in a well off area, then usually the donation stores will have these items (a lot of women are not willing to go through the hassle or taint their luxurious image by selling a bag...better to give it to a good cause as far as they are concerned).
Name brands have protection on their names. You can mimic a Coach bag by putting 'Cs" on it, but it can't actually say Coach. Same with the other name brands. In other words, if it says Fossil, then by copyright/trademark law it can't be anything but a Fossil. Sometimes you'll find a Fosil (only one L) or something along those lines....
But it looks like you got a bunch of goodies (out of style ones...but tons of women will still be willing to pay for them).

Why can't the fake ones have that exact same tag inside them?

Hey guys, heres an update:
The Louis V store at the KOP mall confirmed the bag is in fact authentic & worth $2000+ new!! 😀
I took it to both of the cash traders stores in my small town, neither of them accepted to buy it...They said anything above $500 in their stores just doesn't sell. I understand that though because most of the things they sell are like video games for $5, and some china tablets.
I will try listing it on Ebay now!

Ive sold purses before.

First, I would try Craigslist.
If no go there, then eBay. Those local consignment stores are OK if selling them makes you nervous, but more than likely they will rape you w/ fees more than eBay, and the sell will take longer.
With that said, you could have issues on eBay as well. Women love purses...you will for sure get good money for them on there...but there are also a lot of people that run scams to get handbags (buy, then return a fake, etc...).

Heres a good forum where you can find some good info
