Has anyone received an error in the last, say, 8 hours?

So here is the explanation ....

On Saturday evening, my webhost upgraded their PHP app from 5.2.1 to 5.2.4. This upgrade caused my forum to choke under the newer PHP. This explains why the forum seemingly overnite started to break.

After arguing with my host for 2 days, they finally recognized that the error was due to their *upgrade*.

They, last nite, regressed back to 5.2.1 and voila, the forum works again.

Despite all this, I will be moving the forum to a new location. This incident has shed light on several issues that I prefer not to deal with again.

Also, give thanks to our forum sponsor, Tom w/AptoHosting who spent a few hours looking into this issue.

MJ,

Glad you were able to figure things out, and good choice on making the move to a different box. Hopefully we can keep a smooth and stable forum up and running from now on. But thanks for all the time you have put in and the patience, I know it can be frustrating dealing with 3rd party software companies :nonod:

Don't get too stressed over it, MJ. I haven't encountered a single problem since the forum's conception, but I haven't been around as much recently so maybe I just got lucky =)
