I believe there is a story in Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich about the general who burned his ships, so the troops had no other option but victory. Needless to say against all odds they won because it was either victory or death.

Did you play the 3 door clicking game the article mentioned?

Great find! I noticed my productivity in focused mode vs unfocused are two polar opposites. Lack of focus is why my book is not done and my website is still under development -- I have anti-focus issues gnawing at me daily: Health appts:fastlane:, home remodeling, and past business responsibilities. I can't wait to reclaim my focus and get the Fastlane moving!

Most writers reco getting 500 words done a day
first thing in the morning (when the brain is fresh).
Baby steps and it'll keep the book thoughts swirling around the brain.

Went to see Stephen King yap
and one of my favorite quotes of his was
“If you write everyday, you’re just going to pile sh** up.”

Start piling that sh** up.

Went to see Stephen King yap

Hey...my one claim to fame!

I'm related to Stephen King.

My Dad came from Bangor, Maine.

I remember as a kid, seeing letters from his family when King came to gatherings.

His Mother-in-Law did our family tree.

Unfortunately, I've never met him, but I've read most of his books.

Robert Ludlum used to wake up at like 3:30 in the morning to write. Some reporter asked him if it was "The inspiring mists of the mornings" that made him wake up that early. Ludlum's response: "Hell, no!! It's when the phone isn't ringing."
