I struggle to focus on a single project. I get easily impressed with a new idea and start learning but in a few days I'm doing something else with a lot of enthusiasm. This is not helping.
I've started (but couldn't complete) coding, website designing, online marketing, copywriting, learning keyboard.......
Right now I'm working on learning and implementation of AI in my field (medical, orthopedic surgery) and also am doing a side business.
How do I focus and complete what I picked up?
Is it lack of motivation? Or purpose?
Any suggestions? Please help.

You are just listing different skills, not projects. These are tools, like a hammer, or a saw. The focus should be on a problem that you can solve using the tools. The tools you lack, you learn as you go, or you hire someone else.

Got it. To keep a goal and work towards it's completion.
So I'm basically sharpening my tools without knowing where/how to use them.
Will work on this.
Thanks for your suggestion.

I have been called on this several times by forum members and my friend , trick is cut down everything else ideas you have in mind and focus on one thing accept the opporunity costs and just check if the rewards of the sacrifice is worth it then go all in conviction and commitment will arrive , learnt through hard time , time , attention , mastery, compouding can be only built on one path and set a quit time , if it doesn't work out for you, you can end this and move to something else but give proper effort in that time period your 100% effort

You may need some accountability, maybe a board where you write your project and the outcome you want (not skills, like Jobless explained). Maybe even someone who you talk to weekly and who asks you critically what you did to achieve your project outcome, like an "accountability partner".

Thank you Martin for your suggestion. My new approach will be
1. Focus on outcome
2. Mark my progress on a paper/board
3. Have a timeline (1/5/10 approach)
4. Accountability partner.
Will follow this and share my progress here.

How do you plan to succeed at your new aproach?
What actions will you be taking?

You say you need to focus, then you ask everyone how to focus? See the humour in that, follow your own advice that's it. Pick one(!) project that you think aligns with your skills and has market potential, start with that, keep on going when it gets tough and difficult(that's when you start learning) and accept that it can be f*king boring at times but the other thing will also get boring after 2/3 months.

You need to find something that truly interests you and reflects your sensibilities. You can make all the paper charts and lists you like, but if you are not creating enough dopamine as you sit down to do these tasks, you'll abandon them.

Is there a particular hurry? If not, chill and take your time finding something that you can get your teeth into. Start by looking at the field you're already in.

Also, there's a chance, like me, that you have ADHD. I don't know where you are, so I have no idea how easy it is for you to get a diagnosis, but I would go for that if I were you.

Thank you for your input. Will work on it.

I should be working backwards, like reverse engineering. Have a goal in mind and do and learn all things necessary to achieve/complete it.
This will give purpose and motivation to keep going on a particular task.

Isnt one of these your goal?
Have you picked between the two?

Yes. I was learning AI so that I would find a specific use for it in my field.
I realise it's too broad and non specific.
I need to narrow it down to a specific application or a product, only then my learning will be focused to solve problems for that particular product.

You keep saying what you "should do" and what you "need to do", but not what you WILL DO.
I wish you best of luck.

Thanks. I say that because I will be changing my approach and probably also changing what I'll be working on.
Thanks for pointing it out.
Will update my progress soon.
