I'm in debt for the first time in my life! Granted it's only a -£200 overdraft but I only have enough money for two months more bills and food at this rate, and no further access to credit. Things need to change! In fact they're already changing, since I joined FLF and you all told me to find a job, I've been applying to 3-4 jobs a day. I've also been working more on putting things into action for my personal project (my fastlane plan), but there's no way around the need for capital.
I don't want to go broke, have no access to credit, and be totally destitute and screwed, so I HAVE to find a way to make money, any way at all. I've already been doing this, however terrible ways of making money at £2/hr or less, I need something that brings in more. At least until my house sells and I can properly throw myself at my fastlane plan. I need your help, as I don't have the time to be doing something that is going to bring cash in!
I'm not sure if I can use any of my existing skills or assets, here's some ideas I had:
-I am alright at web design. I can make a nice website, but nothing too complex. Maybe this is something I could sell to local micro/small businesses who just need something simple? I've made websites for myself and family members in the past, but I mostly just use WP and existing themes. I have unlimited web hosting for unlimited sites so I could offer that as a bonus! I could set up their social media and give them advice on making it successful, in a similar vein.
-Sell ads on my 500k+ like FB pages. Videos average 120k views. This month the average post (non-video, I don't post many videos) gets 180k reach/150k reach (two main pages), with the highest-reaching posts getting 3M/2.2M, but the lowest getting 20k/15k. I've never sold ads on these pages before, and an ad post could easily flop and get a super low reach leading to an unhappy client, so it bothers me that ads could destroy the reputation, which would be disastrous as they're essential for my fastlane business.
-Sell a low-barrier to entry service to local businesses?? I would love to hear everyone's ideas for this one especially. I thought of offering window cleaning to places with storefronts but without a car I'm not sure how achievable that is (and would people even want to pay a crazy woman walking around the streets with a bucket and cleaning stuff?! ) The advantage is that getting just two or three clients a day would take me out of the red (and even leave me money left at the end of the month)
-I could also sell a low barrier service to individuals. In my area everyone is broke but just an hour bus journey away you get to the wealthier parts of the city. I could clean their cars, or their gates, or even their house. I could These people make £6000+ a month so even just offering small jobs for £20 or so, a drop in the water for them, I could probably pick up some customers right?
-I have 10k instagram followers. About 30% of them view my post content, and 20% view my story. I haven't updated it in a year as I took a break for my mental health but they're still very supportive and waiting on me. I could take advantage of invite-a-friend programs, e.g. 'join this app and get £10!', which from past experience would translate to 5-10 completions a week. That'd be an extra £100 to £400 a month, dependent on the offers availability, their attractiveness, and payment. I'm not sure how to monetise it, but one way could be blogging. Judging by features from other publishers, I could probably attract a few thousand unique views initially. I read of someone who made $450 from affiliates their first month blogging, so I could look into that.
I'd love to hear everyone else's thoughts! I'm DONE doing low price offers to make scraps that don't even cover bills so I'm preparing to totally quit doing little things for little cash and start doing putting my time into something that is based on effort and pays better than very poorly.
