I'm new around here so thought I should probably do the polite thing and introduce myself...
For the past few years i've been working in business to business research and consulting, primarily in the financial services industry. But I've always been interested in start ups and entrepreneurship and am looking forward to striking out on my own.
I came across affiliate marketing about 2 years ago, and my first project was aimed at electronics hobbyists. I didn't make any profit through the site, mainly because I didn't have the persistence to see it through and build up a decent body of content, but I learnt a lot and I realised the potential to make money online.
I've since read the 4 hour work week and have taken a greater interest in lifestyle design and online marketing. I've been following the Tropical MBA and other similar blogs and that's how I found my way here. The amount of activity on here is awesome and I think literally just joining the forum must give your business a massive boost.
I've enjoyed making suggestions and helping people out with their business problems and i'm looking at how to monetize this. With a background in market research I am looking at how to offer research and strategy consulting services to start ups and small businesses at a cost effective price point.
It's early days at the moment, but i'm looking forward to spending more time on the forum and i'll keep you posted on my progress.
I also set up Angel Heart Jewellery - Accessories with a conscience last year and would love to get your thoughts on this.
