I'm trying to find someone who can help me build a marketplace site similar in form and function to elance, freelancer, uship, etc. In case your not familiar with that model, users post requests for products/services that are then bid on by contractors who are capable of fulfilling the request.
I want to put up a job posting on elance or a similar site (alternatively, I could try to find someone local in NYC) and was hoping someone could point me towards a primer/best practices guide before I get started. Specifically, when I'm prompted for what skills/programming languages are needed I'm completely lost.
Would be great to hear from anyone who has worked with contractors on these sites before.
