Does this count as wanting to leave your country? I'm in a mall and everywhere I look this is shoved in my face. Since when is someone who does literally nothing for their physical health have a body equal to someone who takes their physical health seriously and exercises daily?20210917_163528.jpg

I own a model brand and have a few plus sized models, but very selective, they originally got on the team due to their beauty, marketability, and influence. Douches like yourself who took the time to take a picture of a clothing advertisement and put on the Internet besides moving on their way just motivate to expand my plus size teammates, thank you.

I am 100% for marketing for plus sized people. To not do so would be foolish and literally exclude more than half of potential customers.

However, I don't like promoting that as being healthy and something to strive for. That's like saying someone who is on welfare is economically equal and should be as celebrated as a successful entrepreneur

For those saying that Latin America is a good place to go, I recommend you to do a very thorough research, because, from Spain, the last 5 years I've been seeing a lot of red flags. Most people there have been slowly leaning towards supporting (even demanding) authoritarian self-destrictive international socialism (comunism) and all the countries that have been having some sort of progress they demolished it and reverted back decades.

Mexico, Costa Rica and Brazil looks like some of the few resisting it. Look for inexpensive, safe places that welcome foreigners and entrepeneurs. Also, I believe it's Paraguay, if you make it your permanent residence you'll pay 0% income taxes for foreign businesses.

Everyday it looks clearer that the anglosphere it's working hard towards Orwelian authoritanism and their "allies" are following their lead.

Speaking of Orwell, and this will be most interesting for those of you who are in love with Barcelona and that region, do you know where did he get his inspiration from? George Orwell was a leftist who came to Catalonia (Spain), because back then (a few years before the Civil War) there was a big separatist movement "fighting for their liberation".

Soon he realized that everything was a lie, that he was a fool and had to escape when the purges and conflicts between anarchists and communists began. He witnessed the mass kidnappings, torturings and propaganda of those who before considered comrades.

His writings are based on those experiences as a warning.

And I can guarantee you that nothing has changed in 100 years, that region is beautiful but filled with hateful people. If something happens to you no one will defend you because your rights are meaningless. Do you really want to live in a place where at least a third of the population want to mass murder and your happiness depends on being lucky?

Finally, millions of hispanics come here trying to leave their sh*tholes, they have kids and when they become adults, guess what do they vote for?

Beaches, food, weather, friendships are all bait to trap you. So as I said before, unless you want to take advantage of the Passport by investment program and then run away to Eastern Europe or to spend a week or two for vacations, don't ever think to come.

Writing this hurts because I was born here but it's necessary to warn people.

I have no info about the Caribbean countries sorry, well, except Cuba, but that is a pretty well-known Socialist Utopia  With the recent protests there we had a huge amount of propaganda trying to sell us the fantasy. There's still a lot of people who believe that their misery is the US fault...

We haven't received news from the Dominican Republic and from Puerto Rico only that they complain about being ignored by the US Government or something like that. No good news, no bad news, no red flags, I would say they're in a neutral position, so I have no idea about what's going on there.

The others, I would say Venezuela is the top 1 worst, with Nicaragua and Honduras being really close. Your life is worthless there, you could be killed for anything.

Funny enough, there's people there "living la vida loca" because of their extremely devaluated currency, they rent huge mansions and have a lavish lifestyle, but they have to hire armed guards and live confined. Not what I'm looking for. There's people on YT showing what I just wrote so it could be fake just to get views.

I guess with enough money you could live anywhere but it's a tragedy that places like Venezuela, Colombia, Chile or Argentina are sh*tholes when they could be paradises.

This is ultimately my biggest issue with many tropical "paradises."

They have a perfect climate, some have incredible surfing which is very important to me, yet ultimately your life is worthless there and you have to worry about security every day.

I know that it depends on how vigilant you are and what you do but still... Where I live in Poland you can be outside at night in most areas without any problems. This is a big non-no for most such places. Same for leaving your valuables in your car or somewhere by the house in plan view—it's very unlikely something will happen. Meanwhile, in some of these places (like Brazil) they'll steal your freaking flip-flops at the beach.

Who cares that you have these nice surroundings if you have to live in a house with security bars, cameras, a guard, five dogs, and need to watch your back when you leave anywhere. Then there are terrible issues with corruption, police involved in many crimes, a general lack of trust in people because you always have to be prepared they want to rip you off or steal something.

I can't imagine living like that. I'm probably spoiled in this aspect by living in one of the safest countries in the world where stuff like that is super rare. I had a friend in Mexico who by the time he was twenty-something had been mugged a few times already and even was a bystander in a robbery. He also had to bribe the police a few times to get out of some infractions. For him, it was completely normal.

It's a shame that the warmest European destinations (the Canary Islands, Madeira, and Cyprus) are still not really that warm (winters can get pretty chilly, particularly in houses that lack heating and most don't have it) and, perhaps except for Cyprus, are outspoken socialist countries, too.

I lived in Barcelona for three years and what you are saying is correct. However, winters are WAY more pleasant than in Northern Europe. Usually sunny and between 10-15 degrees Celsius during the day. I never felt staying inside for a full day, while the contrary is true in my country. It's also a perfect climate for long hikes.

No central heating is an issue indeed if you are used to it, like I am too. It can get pretty uncomfortable in January and February, especially in the evenings. Perhaps there are solutions to this?

The only solution is to find a place armed with electric heaters in every corner of the room and then prepare to pay a lot of money for the comfort they hopefully provide.

I've never been colder in my life than in the fall, winter, or early spring in these "warm" destinations (of course referring to being at home, outside is another matter).

Sounds like every house needs a mining computer or two in order to keep things warm!

Went through the list and my city's lowest point is "Safety". Don't know made an evaluation, but honestly I have not locked my car already for 2 years and one of the windows does not go up. Never had an issue.

Any place where mosquito might kill you, is a non-optimal place to live.

Technically this excludes a large portion of the world, the US and Europe included (because of the West Nile virus). Nearly half the world's population lives in an area exposed to malaria alone.

I wonder how many people living in temperate climates die annually because of vitamin D deficiency (or, rather, its consequences) or depression.

If the title of this thread was put together differently, maybe we could have found the solution by now.
Instead of asking "Where is left to go?", we should invert and ask: "Where we should NOT go?".
Whatever will be left, is a place to go.

Interesting prompt. From my point of view on where we should NOT go (this is very personal to me and doesn't cover stuff like weather/activities/geography, etc.):
  • A place where you fear for your life every day, where violence, corruption, and little trust for strangers exists, where little value is placed on a human life, where poverty is so widespread you can't escape it. This rules out the most undeveloped countries as well as some more developed countries with systemic issues (like Brazil).
  • A place where foreigners aren't welcome, are targeted, or otherwise can never blend in and can never enjoy the same rights as the locals. Or in other words, if you can never feel there like at home because you're always "the foreigner." That's why I absolutely hate visiting countries where it's obvious you're a tourist and you keep getting bothered even if you live in a given place for years.
  • A country with 50%+ taxes, unless it's a utopia where your taxes are efficiently invested (impossible). A country that is fine taking over 50% of what you made is dangerously close to tyranny.
  • A country with deeply embedded core values you don't share. For example, I couldn't live in a theocracy or a country that imposes its religion on its citizens (Poland gets worse and worse each year in this aspect). A homosexual most likely wouldn't want to live in a place where it's considered normal to beat them up. An entrepreneur wouldn't want to live in a country where entrepreneurs are hated.
What do you think, @Zaratustra? Where you would NOT go?

The news this year, unfortunately, has consumed a lot of my attention. I've been trying to get out and enjoy life as much as possible, as even though I'm in FL I'm greatly concerned about further restrictions later this year. I'm hoping that's not the case, but preparing for it.

I may lose my high paying job due to this mandate, but that's okay because I've got savings and the job market here is still great. I will likely shift to something more sales oriented that is away from a computer, so when I try to do more fastlane activities on the computer, I'm not already sick of the screen from working all day. It's been a big factor. Mentally I'm 10x or 100x happier away from a screen, and I need it, but it's kept me from pursuing fastlane things. I'm in way better physical shape now in my late 30s than I was in my 20s.

Hoping for the best. Hoping for the best of those that are in much worse situations than I.

FWIW: West Nile is a non-issue. It's true that people died from West Nile, but it was rare, and it's gotten much more rare. The county I live in (northern Colorado) was the epicenter of West Nile when it first came through in 2003. We had the highest case rates of anywhere in the country. In that epidemic year 63 people died in my county, but that was out of a population of over 300k, so 1 out of 5000. That's about twice the risk of dying in a car wreck. I personally know only one person who got a serious case -- a neighbor, and we live on a lake, so plenty of mosquitoes! After that first serious year, cases dropped off dramatically. There were only 30-60 West Nile deaths per year in the ENTIRE COUNTRY for the last few years. So West Nile is not a concern. Common influenza kills 1000x more people every year.

My wife and children were turned away from a restaurant today in Canada because we could not show vaccine cards. So that is it. Canada has chosen to not accept my business. Any place that follows that policy will get 0 of my business. They can rot for all I care.

As a funny side note, the vaccine card literally says this on it: "All information contained in this report is privileged and confidential information intended for use by authorized individuals only". I guess that the minimum wage door keep at dining establishments are now considered authorized individuals, who are privy to your medical records.

Another funny thing, the local market accepts any and all walking around and shopping, including walking through the food eatery area. However, if you want to sit down and eat you need to have your records with you. Yup, stand and eat you are fine, sit at a table and eat and you need your records. And still they comply because big daddy government tells them to.

Great thread, really appreciate all the info, especially on Mexico. That really looks like the winner to me.

I've lived in Bali on and off for quite few years, and know people living there now. Bali is great but it's so small and the corruption is hard to get away from. Crime is increasing a lot too but it's not violent crime, more burglaries.

Mexico definitely looks like the winner at this stage, for me at least.

I'm really lucky to live in QLD Australia where we have been lucky with lockdowns and restrictions, but I don't really want anything to do with Australia anymore.

I share all of your points and one more:
No deadly mosquitos, spiders and other small insects.

From those filters, almost whole southern hemisphere can be excluded.

We have both aedes (it spreads dengue) and malaria here in Malaysia, but its OK, as long as they send teams regularly in the neighbourhoods to spray insecticide.

It only gets bad when stupid fools just leave garbage everywhere- allowing rains to turn them into mini-pools for the mosquitoes to breed. I guess one good thing that came out of the COVID restrictions was massive cleanup everywhere...

What if you need to go outdoors?
Outdoors stuff is alright. Can be done as normal.
The spray-teams don't come very often. Maybe once every two weeks or so, or whenever there's reports of dengue cases around. And they only spray outdoors...around possible places that can collect water for mosquitoes breeding like drains, plant pots, tanks...

When they start spraying though we'd need to close all windows and doors so the insecticide doesn't come indoors. For some reasons, they leave floors very, very oily.

If you are still afraid of mosquitoes, just wear some long sleeves or long pants (lose). Or put on some anti-mosquito balm or deodorant.

Additionally, we have house lizards (geckoes) that are a common appearance in homes. I personally HATE them, but they do some work eating insects- even roaches.

In Barcelona someone stole my sneakers and when I found out it started to rain. I had to go back in socks all wet with people looking at me as if I was some kind of crazy man  I have witnessed many thefts on the beach too. The last 5 years the city has changed a lot, there're videos with lunatics using machetes and sh*t  There's a reason why it's called Warcelona by some.

I have more experiences like that and the worst part is that nobody cares, if thieves or aggressors get caught they're released the next day and if you dare to defend yourself YOU will be the one punished because of a "disproportionate use of physical force". That's what I'm saying over and over, people don't realize how f*cked up the system is because they don't get in trouble, they don't pay attention because they think they won't be affected.

You can avoid some trouble going to a small city but the Government still gets most of the money for their schemes and all the discriminatory insane Laws exist.

What about Malta?

Hey I realized that I may be making some of you too paranoid

We're talking about countries as if they were just neighbourhoods a couple blocks down the street, but they're huge heterogeneous organisms.

Maybe we need to separate nationwide influence from local.

I mean, if X country has a Socialist or anti-business Government I wouldn't go there because in any place I'm affected by their BS.

But others like Brazil or Mexico need to be examined differently, what places there are safe? Where would I be welcomed, free and happy?

Just because some big cities have a lot of crime doesn't mean that there aren't good towns somewhere else, don't you think?
