Hey everyone, came across a conundrum while writing an algorithm for a service. I chose to use Java to challenge myself and have been learning it in college so it would be good for congruence.
When I first started writing the algorithm I made exponential progress, experimenting, testing, and finding new solutions. As it has become more intricate and difficult I noticed I've been less willing to take risks and fail. Right now I see the problems as big obstacles and have decided to avoid trying to find a solution as it's "extra work". So my productivity on it has been decreasing. My schedule is to have the second version done in the next 2 weeks as version one I made nearly 2 weeks ago and took about 3 days to build.
For further context about my action faking, I've got multiple methods built and I need to isolate one part and so for the last week or more I've opened up 2 new files and copy and pasted it in there and then said "I'll fix it later" but I can't continue without fixing this issue.
I recognize that when I fail I get discouraged and am too hard on myself about it. I know that a failed attempt means progress as long as I keep attempting but at the same time I get very unmotivated by these failures. Does anyone else face similar situations where the fear of failing a design, process, or creation has resulted in the lack of action or action faking?
