I recently finished reading The War of Art. It has massively impacted the way that I approach work.
What the book taught me is that everyday is a fight.
It's a fight against your surroundings, your relationships and the inner-workings of your mind. Steven Pressfield calls it the resistance.
The resistance will tell you that you've worked hard enough. That you've done the best you could. That you should turn in for the day.
It's okay to stop at the fast food place, you went to the gym yesterday and had a long day. You deserve a break.
You can get to that task you've been avoiding for days now, another day won't matter. It's easier just to start next week.
Your mind will constantly provide reasons for you to cop out and take the easy path. Sure, sitting on the couch and binging on Netflix sounds great - but is it really getting you any closer to your goals?
Do you really want to create income streams that allow you have total freedom?
The answer is yes. You're here on the forums, reading, absorbing and looking for answers.
But the problem is, that you're not taking enough action. You've given into the resistance. Something tells you that the answer to all of your problems is here, the shortcut hidden somewhere deep within a thread.
It's not there.
It's on you to create your own path. Fight the resistance. Get out there and crush it.
And on that note my friends... I'm getting back to work.
