This is a question for folks with SFR. How many entities do you have to hold onto properties?
The properties I am under contract with were originally intended for a joint entity with a partner. He backed out. I'm still going to purchase them. My problem is the growing number of entities I own. Its becoming CPA costly and time consuming to keep track of all the requirements for each.
I have an entity that owns part of a joint RE entity which in turn owns part of another joint entity. (In other words my entity owns a joint one with my partner and our joint LLC owns a 3rd business with other investors) Would it be wise to place these properties under my entity or form another that this one owns solely? This way if it gets sued I can effectively cut the strings of that kite and not have it effect all my other LLC's. I hope that makes sense.
