Hello everyone. The last couple of months I have been diving into the world of e-commerce and want to get my feet wet with an online store. This will be a specific niche related to the fitness industry. My only problem is finding wholesalers. I dont want to go the “alibaba” route. Does anyone have good advice on acquiring products at wholesale here in the states? Has anyone had any luck going the alibaba route? Don’t want that to be my first option

Thousands have succeeded already. There are plenty of alternatives to Alibaba, and even that platform can be used successfully if you learn how to avoid all the negatives involved.

I suggest you read through my AMA
GOLD! Sharing my lifetime experience in export/import. Product sourcing specialist.
The first thing you need to learn is that you don't want to buy from wholesalers if buying products overseas. You should only buy from manufacturers.

If buying in the US, you would rarely be able to buy from manufacturers, but in at least one of my AMA posts I showed how.

The real question is not how you'll import the products but how you'll market them. Do you have a marketing plan ?
