Dear FS forum,
My name is Quincy and I’m a former chemist now working in accounting. I’m currently enrolled in a masters to pursue a CPA eventually. I like to play chess, I train Muay Thai, and I love cannabis.
I am the ideal slow laner. I got a great GPA, and I graduated two years early. Everywhere I’ve worked - from chemical plants to now a cushy office - I’ve always been a great employee. My 4 years in corporate America have always left me wanting more. After reading the FastLane, I wanted Control. I wanted to always innovate and improve things. I learned quickly that it just led to a vicious cycle of trying to help and hurting yourself as a result. The better you are, the more meaningless work you get for the same pay. Coworkers end up feeling too competitive and become toxic. Often times people did not want to introduce automation because it would affect their perceived job security.
I have no business idea. No experience as a self starter. I am great at learning new things - I guess. I’ll be scrolling around here until I get off my a$$ and pursue an idea. Some hair brain ideas I’ve seen have converted into thousands if not millions. I’m a highly educated 23 year old with a shitty car. I wonder what my excuse is if I have literally nothing to lose.
