Changing Lanes!

Hi guys, this is my first post after reading these forums obsessively for the last few days!
I've been stuck in a job that I hate for the past 2 years with absolutely ZERO opportunity to improve my position and had previously been looking for a way out through the traditional slowlane processes until I was approached by someone with a mutual interest in cars who had an "amazing opportunity" for me.

Having lived in an isolated area for most of my life I had never come across MLM/pyramid schemes before and didn't immediately pick up on what they were about. I did however work out that their business model was unsustainable in the long term before anyone had told me what I was being ushered into.
I went to one "party" and never attended a second, especially after being hounded incessantly to "sign up and start building your wealth!".

One positive that I did take away from the experience though was the concept of "passive income", which I was obviously very interested in!

My parents own a family business, but I would hardly consider this either fastlane nor passive income since my Dad works countless hours with next to no holidays for little reward. One day I'd love to fund my parents' retirement, I figure a couple million or so might possibly come close to repaying them for the years and years of guidance, love, support and education they've given me.

I actually found this forum by complete accident! I was deep into one of my Youtube "related videos" chains when I found a video by Robert Himler / Epic Car Videos. In the description of the video was a link to a contest to ride in his twin turbo Lamborghini, intrigued I followed the link, a few more clicks led me to his "buy my book" page.
I'd seen plenty of these "GET RICH QUICK" books so naturally jumped straight on Google to do my due diligence and find out if there was anything to this guy. One of the links I found was a post on this very forum by someone asking if he was legit, and the name and premise of the forum caught my eye. Needless to say, I'm here to stay.

I'm not going to limit myself in any way, I'm willing to give anything a go. I've read about successful eCommerce businesses, eBook publishers, affiliate marketers, etc. and I plan on trying everything!
I've also been learning about Forex trading, and it's something I find very interesting and I will definitely be setting up a live brokerage account once I've proved that I can make a consistent profit on a demo account.

As of right now I'm setting up an eCommerce website targeting what I wouldn't call a niche market, but what I'm looking to sell is something that a LOT of people only purchase begrudgingly and despise the high pricetag that the product usually carries.
I had a bit of a hesitation to spend the ~$30 to set up hosting and domain registration initially since I didn't have a guaranteed return but then I thought "F*ck it", I'll have the hosting for future ventures and the experience to make the next estore quicker to set up.
After all, $30 to set up a potential source of passive income is a pretty good deal, right?
