But first, I guess I should introduce myself since this is my first post. I'm Seeko, I'm from Atlanta, GA and I've read and almost completely agree with The Millionaire Fastlane . Very enlightning and inspiring book, as most of us already know.
Recently, I've decided to move forward with a idea that I've had for a while, now that the opportunity is present. Now that I'm in an appartment complex, I've always said that I would serve as an on-call tech support "genius" with a premium after hours service. So I have the flyers printed up and my plan is to offer and one service for $40 flat with a $15 premium after 10:00PM. Twenty four hour business (as long as I'm available for the time they call. Otherwise, appointments will be booked).
With that said, I know this isnt exactly fastlane because I'm trading my time for money, but it definitely has the potential to grow into a fastlane business via expansion. It serves fills a void that the community can use, and it sorta has magnitude when you consider that I will be covering 200+ units alone with a $40/service rate. It could expand via word of mouth really fast, but it's really serving as a debt elemination plan for me for this moment. I figure I can get this up and running and throw all my earnings from it onto my bills, while my 9-5 will serve as my main source of income. I'll be using a Google voice number to route to my cell phone so if I'm on my own time, they can leave a voice mail and I'll return the call later.
I know when I said "debt elemination", you automatically think "not with $40 per call!", but I dont owe THAT much money. Just a few annoying thousands that I could get out of the way so that I'm not binded to my job and I can have time to do my fastlane business
Now, with that said, my debt is NOT an excuse by any means, but why not make it easier for myself and free up my TIME, while eleminating bills and opening a possible fastlane avenue at the same time? I have my flyers printed and ready to put on the doors in my complex, and I ran the idea by the office before I even printed them and the guy there gave me a green light. It's a good idea in my mind, but I wanted to run it accross some fellow fastlaners.
What's your opinion on this idea? I am definitely filling a void in my community, on call (if I'm available), and at a more than reasonable price. Sure the premise is semi selfish, but this isnt my fastlane roadmap, however it has potential. In the meantime, I plan on working on learning HTML to create my social network idea (I know.. I'm start from the bottom, but I'm determined to get my vision out and do it very well) and going full speed in the fastlane.
