Hi guys,
My friend and I have both recently passed out driving tests. When we were in the process of booking lessons and mock tests we noticed a real gap in the market. Driving schools in our city have really bad websites/booking systems and are usually fully booked out for weeks. I spent a whole day trying to book a mock test before my driving test and couldn’t book anything before my test (within a week). It was extremely frustrating as the websites were so bad and difficult to book.
This led my friend and I into a discussion. What if we created our own driving school, made an amazing website with a seamless booking system and hired some drivers. We’ve developed this idea since then, built a great website (better than all our competition in our area) and found 3 drivers who are happy to work for us. We will be taking around 25% of what our customers will be paying for the driving tests. Assuming we can have these drivers booked out 40 hours a week we will be making $10k/month between the two of us. And keep in mind this is definitely possible as most of our competitors are almost always fully booked out. And the demand for driving lessons is insane in our area.
My question is first, does this sound like a good idea? Or are we missing something.
I’ve also thought about the best way to market our website which I think I will do through SEO, google ads and organic TikTok (as that’s the right age demographic)
Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks
