so an idea came to me

The country where I live uses a lot of cans, there are thousands of bars, restaurants in the city near me. What if I went up to each bar and offered them a % and left them with a plastic bin and asked them to put the cans in it and once a week I would take it away for them. Also I could tell them instead of a %, that I am donating 10-20% to a local charity (animal charity would be one I would like to donate to).

1000 businesses 100 cans a day = 500 cans a week. 1000x500 = 50,000 cans a week

52 weeks x 50,000 cans = 26,000,000/70,000 cans per tonne = 371 tonnes

371 tonnes x 0.40/kilo = 150,000 revenue

The bars in London use cans? I'm not a bar person but I think the bars in America use the tap and bottles mostly.

Horrible idea. I knew it was horrible in about two seconds.

1,000 businesses x 52 weeks (1 pickup a week) = 52,000 trips for 150,000 revenue. It won't be enough to even pay for transportation costs and even if you spend eight hours a day driving to each location you wouldn't be fast enough. You'd have to visit 17.85 locations every hour. Also how are you going to manage paying 1,000 businesses and the costs/time in acquiring them?

You also won't really be making a difference. A lot of trash facilities actually sort through trash for recyclables before it goes to the landfill.

If you want to be difficult..... in what ever city you are planning this in..... they use cans instead of the tap or bottles?

The lil woman is heading to Spain next weekend for 10 days, she isn't a bar person but I guess I'll have to ask her to find out just so I know.
