Hi FLF! At the end of last year I came up with the idea of building a new way for businesses and people to be found online.
I was driving one day and noticed that all companies who put detailing on vehicles always have some long email (some even a personal Gmail), unremeberable phone number or hard to remember URL. I thought, it would be easier if I could just type "call Daves plumbers" into some search box and the number comes up in my phone app and just calls them.
This was the birth of my website hop2.io. Hop2 allows users to essentially buy any phrase they want and assign it to their URL, email or phone number. Meaning customers can find and remember your business by a phrase. Hop2 is not a search engine but a way of getting the exact result from a search term.
I'm currently testing the validity of this idea, so an trying to get as many users on board as possib.e
What have I done so far:
- Build the site and have around 20 people signed up and have added phrases.
- Had my first £50 in sales yesterday.
Next steps:
- Build a really strong database of phrases and companies.
- After user testing, I need a way to verify the quality of the search phrases.
- Build a chrome plugin so real world users can easily search the phrases without the need to go the website.
- Build a iPhone and Android app to allow people to easily search phrases.
