I have a (true) story that I've been wanting to publish once it's finished (either eBook or print). Now I'm thinking it would make a good blog, and I could combine it with something else I've been wanting to make a blog about.

Done right, I'd probably have a higher chance of success with the blog and if the figures are right I could make money that way as well. Plus, by chopping up the story it would give me enough content for a while until I can launch the rest.
So, for those with experience in either or both, what are your thoughts?

Publishing on the blog is not mutually exclusive with publishing in print/eBook.
After a couple years of posting on RoadToForbes,
I got REQUESTS to put the posts in eBook format
(didn't end up doing that and the site now no longer exists).

However, more and more publishers are considering web/blog postings
to be "published"
which means that if they're interested in solely primary rights,
they'll give the book a pass.

I'm sorry, could you clarify a bit?

Blog: easier, faster; subject to fluctuation, takes time to build traffic --> revenue
Publish: long process, subject to fluctuation; revenue?

Signs point more towards blog. I also think that what i have in mind might work better as a blog.
