Blog/bad idea?

After I whinged in the $3000-$1 mill thread for no reason, I wondered if something could be done on an even smaller scale, how low can you go?
Here's my 'plan/bad idea'... $7-$100. The $100 is obviously not the main goal, but we'll see where I go from there and even if I only make $8 I'm still in profit.


I want to start a series of different genre blogs.
I know that there's 143 trillion blog sites out there, however most blogs are very Americanised, I don't mean this in a bad way. I do read quite a few blogs daily, but sometimes I think that this certain product/service is never going to be available here, so I wish there was a local variant.


I can use photoshop a little, which may come in handy for somethings, if not I have a buddy who designs websites and can help. So I have a main idea for a blog, and weirdly I only found a few blog's on the net about this subject...maybe because there's no interest? I don't think so, the sites in question have a poor layout and look cheap.


I have an idea for a name and it is available, the part you wont like is that its quite long, it's a few words thrown together, the words by themselves mean something, throw the words together and they work again like 'youtube'. I really do like the name though and think it could work.


I obviously would love it to become diverse like Gawker media... so i start with *BlognameA and then another genre BlognameB etc... which already blows my initial plan of $7. 😀
The other problem I have with Gawker, is that all their site's look different and have different names, there's no real corporate identity.

I just wondered in which way to do it?

for example:
(''blognamemoney.com' 'blognamecola.com' 'blognamefood.com')

or seperate like this
('blogname-money.com' 'blogname-cola.com' 'blogname-food.com')

Come to think of it, could you have multiple blogs running off the same site?
'blogname.com/money' 'blogname.com/cola' 'blogname.com/food'

(I hope for mankind no-one ever makes a cola blog.)


After reading numerous threads it seems blogger.com is the way to go, but with a proper domain name. Wordpress may work better though?
