Hi there,
My name is Chris Kyle. I am currently enrolled in college about to start my junior year. I really haven't decided on a major but I would say business management is the direction I'm heading. I recently discovered this website and went ahead and read TMF . This book was definitely a mind changer and made me realize that this is what I was meant to do. I have many friends who our excited about getting their degrees and starting jobs, but for some reason nothing about that really got me excited. I have had many entrepreneurial efforts in the past. My ultimate fear is having to work for someone else. I like being in control and I don't like others trying to lead my life and force it in a certain direction I am not okay with. I got really into the internet at the age of 14 and played around and decided to create my own website. I was hooked. To date, I have created about 5-10 websites, all for fun and play. Many were just because I was bored and had nothing to do. I looked into ways of monetization online and I discovered internet marketing. I found it intriguing how people were literally earning an income from selling other peoples products over the internet. After a few failed attempts at this, I decided to move onto other things. Its not that I had given up on internet marketing, I just found an interest in other things. I currently have two things Im working on. I have a parody twitter account that I hope to use to raise a bit of funds for the business I'm wanting to start. I put up a good chunk of my own cash to grow this account, only knowing that I will be able to monetize it in the future to earn an income that can save me time, and cause me not to get a minimum wage job. The parody twitter is about to hit 100k followers and when it does I will be monetizing it via cha cha ad links. I intend to use any money made through this account to fund my business idea. I have an idea that has to do with a product that already exists. I feel that I can improve this product and make it better.
Being new here, I was wondering if I could ask a few questions to other members.
What is the best major if your ultimate goal is to run your own business and be an entrepreneur?
What is everyone else's opinions on college?
Does having a degree honestly help me at all if my goal is to run my own business?
What is the best place to get started learning essentials/skills I might need to learn to run my own business?
Its great to meet everyone and I'm glad to be part of such a great community.
Thanks again,
Chris Kyle
