I'm really excited about this.
I study Japanese, and for years I've been frustrated by the inefficiency of flash cards. There are apps that let you make and review flash cards, but they ignore the key flaw: It's making the flash cards that sucks the most.
I've had the idea floating in my head for a while now to just make my own app that has access to a full dictionary of the Japanese language. Instead of making cards, you look the words up and add them to a custom deck of cards. These dictionary entries will have example sentences, parts of speech, and all alternate meanings of any given word. I'll also be making a web app (and potentially a desktop client). Both the Android and web app will sync to the same backend. Your cards will go with you everywhere.
One service that removes all the ugliness: You won't create, carry, lose, or re-create a flashcard ever again.
I was worried I was the only one who cared about this problem, until I got the courage to look for reviews of current apps on the android store. Not only is there a market for this, but this is word-for-word what people asked for in their reviews. It's only a matter of time until someone gives it to them.
Wish me luck. And please ask any critical, harsh questions that come to mind. Criticism is always welcome.
