Hi Folks
I'm from London, UK. I've spent a lifetime having a ball in a couple of the leading global IT companies, and I'm doing okay. In fact I am quite comfortable.
However I want to do something a bit more fulfilling. As a result I'm a bit of a serial dabbler. I've previously been a freelance writer, and started a couple of "hobby" businesses, none of which amounted to anything. Part of the problem is that as I am quite comfortable, so I have a lot to loose. My advice to youngsters would be to have a go at doing your own thing before you get family responsibilities and before you get so far down the career road that you have more to loose.
My plan & reason for being here is to get the motivation and planning to have a real go at doing it for myself (either with or without leaving my comfortable and generous full time employment). My aim is to to not die as a quickly forgotten corporate foot soldier (even if I am slightly higher ranking than a foot soldier). I want to experience a little bit of the glamour from being my own business success before I shuffle off this mortal coil. I've no real plans how to do this yet.
