I'm at a point in my life where I want/need/am ready for a change. I am almost restless in it.
I have 3 different scenarios that I can play out for my life right now...and I'm wondering which way to go....
1. Stay where I am and continue to build my business.
2. Move to Italy and start over. Start a new career, leave almost everything I own here (probably just sell it all).
3. Move to the beach. I have another opportunity to grow my business and I will still stay in California (where most of my family is).
Here's my dilemma. My two daughters are basically willing to go with me anywhere. I am really working on "downsizing" my life so that if I don't want to "work" I don't have to. I'm meeting my financial advisor this Wednesday to start moving my plan into action, now it's just for me to figure out where I want to land.
Anyone ever see the movie, Under the Tuscan Sun? Well, that came out around the time my ex left. I went to Italy about 4 months after that and fell in love with the country. I'm half Sicilian and it felt like coming home when the plane's wheels touched the ground. Alot of what that movie was about, I went thru myself (except for buying the house out there...although I'm thinking about it now).
Anyways....I've also always wanted to live by the beach. This opportunity will land me around the Santa Barbara area and that's a pretty cool place to be. I will be able to still "work" when I want to and bring in some sort of an income....but also live a very bohemian type life....I'm ready to kick back and just "be".
I know I may be rambling...these are some of the thoughts running around in my head...I am going to head up to Santa Barbara in about a week and a half to see if that's what I want to do....
Another point...if I move to S.B. I will be able to continue the relationship I currently am in...if I go to Italy, it will be over. Now...I've already decided not to make that the reason to go or not, but it does factor in for me a bit.
Either way, I am going to be making a huge change in my life in the next few months. I'm just in a place of total confusion and excitement!
Anyone else ever been in a spot like this? What did you do? Any words of advice/wisdom?? I really could use some clarity. All I've told myself right now to do, is to investigate all my options and see where they take me....but I don't know if that's being too vague...sigh....see my dilemma??
