I am looking for a book or other resources on teaching methods of advertising and was wondering if anybody has any recommendations. I looked through amazon and haven't really found exactly what I am looking for.
Furthermore, I am looking more for setting up an advertisement platform vs. advertising a website elsewhere. I read "The Facebook Effect" by David Kirkpatric and learned a lot of interesting things about Facebook's advertisement platform and why they are so successful in that. Most specifically the data they collect on users and how that is integrated into their advertisement system. If a person wants to target firefighters in New York City...they can do that. Google recognizes keywords I type in email and sends me ads based on those. These are the types of systems I want to learn more about creating and setting up.
That is the type of thing I am looking to learn a little bit more on, and not just general advertising. If anybody has any good suggestions for this, that would be greatly appreciated. I'll keep looking and will update this thread if I find what I am looking for.
