This isn't binary. We need both. Lots of things we can control (or at least influence), some things we can't.

Although it is definitely better to have more of an internal locus rather than an external locus, it doesn't follow that having 100% internal and 0% external focus is ideal. That would just be insane.

This is great and vey interesting, the problem is that I think it's difficult to answer all questions neutrally and not thinking on "how we'd like to be" or in the results we want to get in the test. (At least in my case)

I think I scored that high on external locus of control simply because I do believe luck is a thing.

Good luck happens, bad luck happens...random events happen that are out of my control.

But I beleive I am 100% responsible for my reactions to those random events, those events are rare, and 99% of what happens in my life is due to my choices.

I feel like this is about the perfect ratio, because you have to be realistic... we’re not 100% in control of our lives. People rear-end us, unexpected things happen... and if you don’t account for those things you’re just as screwed as being externally ‘locused.'

The test results depend a lot on your experiences and upbringing. For me, I couldn't control how I was treated in the school system, nor I can't control the fact that people discriminate in the job and housing market. Some people and things really do try to hold you back. But I don't let it hold me down. These things pretty much have motivated my FTE and why I am seeking entrepreneurship.

Take this question for example:

“11) Getting a good job depends mainly on being in the right place at the right time.“
Surely by definition you have to be in the right place at the right time?
Surely it’s up to us to *put* ourselves in the right place at the right time?
Or make it the fecking right time?
I don’t think that’s what they mean by the question though. I presume they’re asking whether I believe a job will come to me without me doing anything, just by “happening” to be in the right place at the right time?

I had a problem with the ghosts question. I don't believe in ghosts in the traditional sense but have experienced several occurrences of what others would call ghostly happenings. Logic takes me one way. My experiences take me another.

Dude, I've seen ghosts too. People can be "logical" all they want, but there's some shit out there we don't understand.
